With much anticipation and preparation, the Canadian Choral Society performed its inaugural concert on April 13th, 2013, at Mississauga’s St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.  Over 30 nervous and excited choristers were joined by tamburaši to perform for the choir’s first large and appreciative audience. The choir’s founding Artistic Director Edward J. Mavrinac presented a varied program of sacred, folk, as well as melodic Dalmatian songs that brought the audience to their feet! As part of the choir’s desire to support young aspiring music students, the first Merit Award was presented by chorister Marko Valčić to the talented vocalist Ivica Balaban. Ivica enthralled the audience with his soaring renditions of various classical and Croatian musical selections. CCCS’s inaugural concert was an astounding success and left concert goers eagerly looking forward to future performances!
