The choir also performed contemporary repertoire, in shared performances, in Opatija (Villa Angiolina) with the Croatian choir GIMPL (under the baton of Mrs. Zalinka Majetić Mufić) and an outdoor performance in Šibenik during the festival “Chanson” in the courtyard of St. Franjo Church with the legendary choir KOLO (Conducted by Mr. Vladen Vuletin).
The final performance of the tour was held outdoors in the square adjacent to the Church of Saint Stošija in Zadar. This performance was enjoyed by the Canadian Ambassador to Croatia, the Croatian Ambassador to Canada and the Belgian Ambassador to Croatia. It was a touching evening for our chorister Leo Špralja, as his father Joso (renowned artist and past proprietor of Toronto’s Joso’s Restaurant) was present in the audience.
In all, the tour was a fantastic experience for everyone! Not only did our guests enjoy our choral performances, they also fell in love with Croatia, its natural geographical beauty as well as our hospitable Croatian people.
